Today, at 12 p.m. eastern time, the benefit auction to help Baby Sam's family begins! Many people have donated beautiful handmade items for this special cause.

Sam is 5 months old and on April 13, 2010 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma. He is now having his second chemotherapy treatment.

As soon as the feedback is in from my testers and any kinks are worked out, I'll be stocking more interlock covers! I spent some time today dying up swatches for my new interlock covers. I need some help naming the colors so I thought a fun giveaway was in order.

Here are the details:

Why it's important to HELP, now.

HELP is a non-profit international disaster logistics organization. My late father was instrumental in the founding of HELP and was on the board of directors when he passed away. Dad had a huge heart for the world’s underprivileged citizens. Through the dedication and time of my dad and many others like him, HELP was formed.

In the midst of the Haitian earthquake crisis, HELP is stepping in to provide water purification and telemedicine services to the devastated peoples. Randy, the Director of HELP, is hoping to deploy within the next 24 to 36 hours. He, himself, is going to make his way to Haiti to begin the preliminary relief efforts.

As a very small way to contribute to HELP’s relief mission, 25% of the gross sales of my upcoming store stocking will be donated directly to the Haitian relief effort. The stocking will take place on Friday, January 15, at Noon, EST.

Mommy/Pregnant brain strike again!

I wrote in most of my listings that my free shipping promotion would end last night at 11:59pm instead of tonight. I have since corrected them. So if you want to order something, do it now! As long as my shop has been open (it will be three years in April), the Ribbon Play Balls have been a favorite. Even my almost-2 and almost-4-year-old boys still play with the original balls I made (nearly 4 years ago!).

Auto Trash Bags - New at MamaMade!

I've learned recently that I'm not the only one who seems to generate a lot of little garbage in the car. Things like banana peels, tissues, lollipop sticks and similar items were always finding their way on to the floor of my car. It was annoying, gross and I figured there had to be a better way.

So I made an auto trash bag, reusable and washable, and perfect for holding all the trash that seems to accumulate on car trips. It has a PUL lining, and adjustable snapping straps.

I've listed 12 prints, but they're going fast, they'll make great Christmas (or Hanukkah) gifts!

We simply shake them out every evening, unless there was some peanutbutter ooz inside, and when they do get soiled, we just toss them in the wash. Brilliant design! I have to confess, I tested for OiGoi, too. I am happliy testing out a current creation of her's as well, but lucky you that her deodorant is out of the testing fazes! I put that deoderant to work. I worked outside in the sun and humidity. I wore it while cleaning out the basement. I wore it to a crowded parent teacher meeting, where the furnace ran on a 75 degree day. I was stinkless! I can't wait until she stocks again so that I can get some more!

Starting November 1st, you can take 10% off of any custom or in-stock item that features striping in its design. The striping MUST be from my selection of in-stock yarns. Take 20% off of any custom or in-stock item that uses ONLY in-stock yarns. In-stock items will already be marked down and custom orders will have the discount included in the final invoice. This sale is not applicable for any custom order placed prior to November 1st. Discounts cannot be combined.

First of all, while I have been a member of EcoNest for a few months now, I have never introduced myself here!

My name is Hannah, though most of you probably know me as Jerimbato. I have been married for a little over two years, to my wonderful husband who is a dispatcher for our county fire rescue. Our son, Seth, was born at home on February 10th of this year. I stay at home with him now-- before he was born I was a children's library assistant. I loved it, but I am so thankful to be able to be with Seth all the time. I really love being a mom.

So let's see... while I have lived here in South Florida since I was a kid, I was born in Maine, which I still love to visit. I love yoga, books, health foods and anything creative. I have always loved art and crafts. My mom was a textile design major in college and is now a graphic designer, and my dad does fine art, photography and video production, so I grew up surrounded by creativity and it has always been part of my life. I have a local portrait photography business, and I also enjoy anything that involves paper, paint, yarn, beads, wire, whatever :)

My Etsy shop is still new, and I am currently in the process of completely revamping and re-stocking it. I started by offering just handmade jewelry, but starting in November I will be posting all kinds of new stuff. I have been working on lots of new items and am pretty excited about it! I will post here when I reopen my shop.
